Crock Pot Beef and Sausage Stew
Ingredients
- 12 ounces of ground beef
- 12 ounces of pork sausage
- 2 large carrots, chopped
- Two stalks of chopped celery
- 6 peeled and cubed red potatoes
- One small yellow onion
- 14 ½ oz beef broth
- 3 mashed garlic cloves
- Two tablespoons of tomato paste
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 2 teaspoons of oregano
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- Two teaspoons of Tobasco sauce
Instructions
- On medium heat in a skillet, warm oil to brown the beef and pork sausage. This will ensure a bold and rich flavor when it comes time to cook in the crock pot.
- When meat is cooked through, drain the fat and let it sit for the next steps.
- In another skillet, lightly caramelize onions over medium heat, just enough so they’re soft but not entirely brown.
- Combine the can of beef broth and tomato paste. Whisk and put into crock pot.
- Add meats, chopped vegetables, and other ingredients into the pot and mix together.
- Cover with the lid and cook on low for approximately 6-8 hours. If you don’t have the time or want to wait that long, cook on high for 3-4 hours. Cook until vegetables are soft!
- Stir once finished, serve, and enjoy!
